The small African country of São Tomé and Principe, very much linked to the history of our Province – to the former Province of Portugal – and whose Bishop, Manuel António Mendes dos Santos, is a native of the same, is suffering severely from the consequences of the pandemic by the COVID 19.
For this reason Fr. Manuel Mendes requested emergency assistance to alleviate the difficult situation. This aid has come through the Pontifical Mission Societies, which manages the Emergency Fund created by Pope Francis. You can read more about it here.
