The community of the Carvalhos Boarding School was originally established to specifically serve the former Carvalhos School. With the closure of the Porto community, this community has since taken on additional missions, such as the Parish of Areosa (Porto). Today, it is a more diverse community, serving both schools (Colégio dos Carvalhos and Colégio Claret), the Parish of Areosa, collaborating with the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Parish of Pedroso, the Youth Centre of the Salesian Sisters, among others.
The members of this community include: Fr. José Diz (Parish Priest of Areosa), Fr. António Oliveira (Vicar of the community and collaborator at the Shrine), Fr. João Luís Alves (Prefect of Youth and Vocation Ministry [YVM] and community bursar), Fr. Vítor Pinto (Superior of the community and Administrator at Colégio Claret), Fr. Adão Chaves (Claretian Procure, teacher at Colégio Claret), and seminarian Vítor Barbosa (YVM team member and teacher at Colégio dos Carvalhos).
We are a diverse community in terms of both age and roles. We are always happy to welcome visitors, sharing our life and our hope in a world that challenges us, which we aim to illuminate with the spirit of our founder.
A fraternal embrace to all!
