Chronicle of the Encounter of Volunteers of the Claretian Province of Fatima 2022

Once again this year, the Encounter of Volunteers of the Claretian Province of Fatima became a space to share proposals, learning and knowledge, and above all to have a fraternal encounter with all the persons and groups that form part of the Claretian family.

In this edition, the importance of following a common path in the mission of the Claretian family was reinforced. For this reason, four focuses of mission that should guide the projects of solidarity and volunteering were deepened.

Thus, four workshops were held on the themes of Migrations-Interculturality, Integral Ecology, Right to Education, Peace and Reconciliation.

During the meeting, the people who had an experience of international volunteering this summer were able to give their testimony of the process and the experience in the different countries where Proclade Betica collaborates in international cooperation projects. The destinations were Brazil (Manaus-Amazonas), Morocco (Tangier-Hogar Lerchundi), Zimbabwe (Zhomba and Ruwa), Colombia (Cartagena de Indias, Chocó, Medellín) and São Tomé.

The meeting also included experiences of local volunteering. The project of the Rehoyando Association was presented by the social worker Mónica Gallo and José Antonio Benítez cmf.

Also presented was the new project of Proclade Betica of Education for Development, Right to Dream, which is related to the priority focus of Migrations-Interculturality. The overall objective of the project is to promote global citizenship, inclusive and free of violence, building critical awareness with migrants, which generate new narratives.
