AWARD TO ST. ANTHONY MARY CLARET CHIUTSI PRIMARY SCHOOL (ZIMBABWE)

Each year in Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) gives an award called the Secretary’s Merit Award. The award is given to both primary and secondary schools who excel in academics, sport and any other outstanding area of excellence in the schools. It stands as a way of promoting healthy competition amongst schools to help the improvements of all standards of learning in schools nationwide.

The Merit Award is a highly valued token of appreciating outstanding excellence in our country and as such, it is an honour for any school to be nominated as the receiving school for the award.

In the year 2024, the honour of receiving this award in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe was given to our very own school, St. Anthony Mary Claret Chiutsi Primary School. Our excellence in the 2024 ZIMSEC national examinations, choir performances, long jump and other excelling areas has led us to receive this award.

As we prepare to receive this award in the next few weeks, we are doing everything with joy and excitement as this move has brought great honour to our school and community as a whole. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Claretian Missionaries, the local community and all our Spanish friends for the help, love and prayers you give to us. Our school is a well of excellence everyone wants to learn from. We are here because of all the assistance you give to us from time to time.

Estamos agradecidos por toda la ayuda que nos han brindado.

From and with heart,

The teachers of the school
