Rome will be the venue for the 27th General Chapter of the Claretian Missionaries, scheduled to take place from 15 August to 10 September 2027. The official announcement was made on 30 May 2026 by the Superior General of the Congregation, Fr Mathew Vattamattam, CMF.
The capitular assembly will be guided by the theme: “One Mission, United in Mission: Prophetic and Mystic Missionaries on the Synodal Path.” Through this convocation, a formal invitation is extended to all members of the Congregation to revitalise their commitment to missionary service in the contemporary world, as well as to strengthen communion and discernment. In harmony with the synodal dynamics currently being lived by the Church and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the preparatory phase of the Chapter will foster specific dynamics within communities and across the wider Claretian Family. These will be rooted in: appreciative, narrative, and synodal conversations, as well as spaces for discernment.
Rooted in the charism of Saint Anthony Mary Claret and entrusted to the Heart of Mary, the Congregation is called to walk together with hope, creativity, and a renewed missionary ardour towards a new Pentecost for the Church and the world.
