Analysis of the encyclical ‘Fratelli Tutti’ from the perspective of migrants

Alberto Ares, director of the University Institute of Studies on Migration and assistant to the coordination of the Jesuit Service for Migrants in Spain, presents us with an analysis of Pope Francis’ encyclical ”Fratelli Tutti” from the perspective of migrants.

In the text, which has left no one indifferent, the Pontiff has wanted to defend a message of rejection of purely economic policies and demands that the focus stolen by the global crisis we are experiencing be returned to the people. In this context, it highlights the way in which we all live together.

Some of the points analysed are:

The importance of universal brotherhood
The dignity of every human person and the promotion of the richness of diversity
Hospitality
Social friendship

As well, spirituality and Migration Theology are recognized as disciplines that help us to find the face of God in the lives and hearts of our migrant brothers and sisters.
