42nd Anniversary of the Parish of Areosa

Last Sunday 7th March the Parish of Areosa (Porto) celebrated its 42nd anniversary and its 2nd year as a Definitive Parish in a very special way, adapted to the circumstances by COVID-19.

The usual 12.00 noon Eucharist, broadcast live on Facebook and Youtube, was dressed in solemnity and joy to celebrate another year of the Parish.

After the Eucharist, many parishioners made their way to the parish to pick up their lunch. Two years ago, on the 40th anniversary of the Parish, when it was still possible, a big lunch was held in the Social Centre. This year, due to the restrictions imposed to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea was to keep the lunch but to hold it in each of the homes of the members of the community.

To complete this special day, the video of the evening “To Remember is to Live“, a show held in February 2020 in the Multipurpose Hall of the Parish of Areosa, in which each church group created a presentation to show the Community, was posted on the Parish Facebook page.
