Meeting of the “motor team” of the Claretian Colleges of Spain

On Saturday, September 16, the members of the “motor team” for Christian education of our Claretian provinces of Fatima, Santiago and Sanctus Paulus met in the Colegio Mayor Jaime del Amo (Madrid, Spain).

This “motor team”, which counts with the participation of Juan Martín Askaiturrieta, representing the provincial superiors of the three organisms, is formed by the prefects of apostolate plus a representative of the field of Christian education of each one of the Claretian provinces. Thus, the team is formed by:

– Jorge Sánchez, Juan José García ( Province of Fatima).

– Luis Arribas, Basilio Álvarez (Province of Santiago).

– Gustavo Pez, Aitor Kamiruaga (Province of Sanctus Paulus).

Previously, on 13 June, there had been a first meeting, online, in which, in addition to the above-mentioned persons, Adolfo Lamata, Provincial Superior of Santiago, also took part. This first meeting was motivated by a previous encounter, in Vic, in which the provincial superiors and the prefects of apostolate of these three Claretian provinces participated. The objective of the meeting was to be able to resume the work that was done in a couple of meetings, in 2018, on the possibilities of common and joint work in the field of education in the schools of our Claretian provinces.

In those meetings in 2018, some areas of work were raised and, given the reality of our schools, the need was seen to take up the subject again, proposing a series of meetings for reflection and joint work. The areas of work on which we want to reflect and share are the following:

  1. Area of PASTORAL AND CHARISMATIC IDENTITY.
  2. PEDAGOGICAL AREA.
  3. Area of PEOPLE MANAGEMENT.
  4. AREA OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION.

With the aim of presenting a common reflection, a questionnaire was previously sent out with the points on which each of the organisations had to contribute information and reflection. In this way, throughout the day on Saturday, it was possible to share information on the current state of our centres, using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and the expectations of joint work that were collected for each of the areas.

In short, it was an intense day in which we were able to share our common dreams, gather the lines on which to converge, and mark an itinerary that helps to continue advancing in the reflection and common work. This joint journey has begun with great enthusiasm and hope and, for this, we can count on the generous dedication of the educational communities of our centres.
