Serving the Word: Mt 12, 14-21

Matthew 12, 14-21:
“He will not brawl or shout, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets. He will not break the crushed reed, nor put out the smouldering wick.”

Once again, we contemplate the contrast between the cold legality of the Pharisees and the mercy of Jesus, who continues to heal, continues to serve, continues to forgive and continues to bring succour with deep piety and mercy.
And he does all this without the noise and without grand appearances.
He does it with simplicity, humility, almost anonymously.
Without brawling, without yelling, without ranting, without breaking the crushed reed and without putting out the smouldering wick.
Learn Today from Jesus.
Practice mercy.
You will see how happy you feel.
Good day.
