Serving the Word: Lk 9: 46-50

Luke 9, 46-50:
“Whoever receives this child in my name welcomes me and the one that welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For the least among you all, that is the one who is great.”

The disciples of Jesus continue with their obsession: they are very concerned about the leading positions, the primary role, to be important as they understand it.
That is why Jesus again gives his lesson on humility.
And he places at his side a child, who at the time of Jesus was a person without rights and without any relevance.
Jesus makes it very clear whose side he is on: the smallest, weakest, for the ones who are most in need.
Seek to ensure that Jesus also put you at his side not because you are big, important or powerful but because you are simple, humble and small.
Only then can you be next to Jesus.
Put on your side not power, not what is important in the eyes of this world, what has value according to human judgment.
Put on your side the small, the simple and the weak.
Good day.
