John 10, 1-10:
“I am the door of the sheep-pen: whoever enters by me will be saved and may go in and out and find pasture.”
Today’s Gospel presents us with the figure of the Good Shepherd.
It is good for us to delve into its rich content and allow ourselves to be accompanied by him.
I suggest that today you do so from Psalm 23:
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want:
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness,
He leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I fear no evil, for thou art with me:
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
May these words accompany you throughout today and may you feel that the Lord is the Good Shepherd who always watches over you.
