Serving the Word: 23rd February

WEDNESDAY 23rd FEBRUARY 2022

Mark 9, 38-40:

“He who is not against us is for us”.

When in any prayer or celebration I am invited or encouraged to pray for “poor sinners” I feel a sense of rejection.

I have the impression that I am invited to place myself on the side of the “good” in order to pray for those who are “bad”.

And I am well aware that I have to be on the side of those “poor sinners”.

We can never believe that we have the exclusivity of the good and that we are the only bearers of the message of Jesus.

This is how the apostles believed and were corrected by the Master.

Favour the good wherever you find it. Where the good sprouts and grows, there are seeds of the Gospel.

Take care of those seeds, wherever they spring up, so that they may bear the fruit that God desires.

Good day.
