Serving the Word: 21st February

MONDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2022

Mark 9, 14-29:

“I believe, but help my lack of faith”.

Today’s Gospel passage is a continuation, in the Gospel of Mark, of the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor.

Jesus does not stay on the Mount but comes down with the three disciples who have witnessed his glory, to take care of the needs of people.

And, as always, he is concerned about their problems and their needs.

He meets a father who asks for the healing of his son. A father who has a nascent faith in Jesus.

But he is also a man who asks Jesus to increase his faith.

Jesus takes the boy by the hand and, after healing his illness, sets the boy on his feet.

Everything is possible for those who have faith. Ask Jesus today by making your own the prayer that this father once said to him: “I believe, but help my lack of faith”.

You will see that Jesus also takes you by the hand and sets you on your feet.

Good day.
