Matthew 6, 19-23:
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be”.
What or whom do you call your treasure?
There will be people whose treasure is money or power or fashion or fame or any of the other things that fade with the passage of time.
They are those treasures that do not give us fulfilment, because they are fleeting and can be lost, stolen or destroyed over the years.
Accumulate and store up treasures in your heart. But let them be treasures that cannot be measured, bought or sold.
Store up in your heart generosity, mercy, forgiveness, affection, devotion, all the values of the Gospel.
No one can take these treasures away from you, because the guardian of all these treasures is God himself, who will multiply them in you to infinity.
Put your heart into these treasures.
