Serving the Word: 10th September

SATURDAY 10th SEPTEMBER 2022

Luke 6, 43-49:

“Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice, I will tell you who they are like: they are like someone who built a house: they dug and prepared and laid the foundation on rock; a flood came, and the river rushed against that house, and could not demolish it, because it was solidly built.”

Jesus guides our life and gives us the fundamental indications so that we do not lose our way in our search and our choices.

He wants us to be characterised by doing good and contributing our gifts to the building of the Kingdom of God, which makes use of “bricklayers” who, at times, can make mistakes in the choice of the ground on which they build their ideals and expectations.

Although Jesus offers us masterly lessons in architecture and engineering, which are most clear, we tend to build on seemingly easy terrain which, in the long run, leads to collapse and ruin.

Building on rock takes time and effort. But it is worth it.

Keep in mind that what is built on the rock that is Christ will never be overthrown.

Strive today to build your life on firm rock.

Good day.
