FRIDAY 10th NOVEMBER 2023
Luke 16, 1-8
“Surely the sons of this world are more crafty with their people than the sons of light.”
Besides other things you might think of as you read today’s Gospel, notice that this rich man’s steward goes out of his way to make good friends among the needy.
What this steward does raises a question in me that I share with you: Do I use the personal resources that I have, because God has given them to me, with those who need them?
We all have many assets that we should learn to use and manage for the benefit of others, using all our cunning and creativity.
The astuteness and creativity of many organisations – CARITAS or PROCLADE, for example – that knock on many doors so that love and solidarity can spread throughout the world is to be praised.
And the astuteness and creativity of so many people who put their skills at the service of those who suffer most is also to be praised. Present all these people and associations to the Lord today and ask him to give you, too, energy and initiative in promoting those most in need.
Good day to you.
