Vocation and Charism: The 16th New Educators’ Meeting in Loja Consolidates the Identity of Our Educational Project
LOJA (GRANADA). – From 25th to 29th August 2026, the Claret House of Spirituality in Loja hosted the 16th New Educators’ Meeting. These days, which benefited from the active presence and guidance of the Headship Team and the Prefect of the Apostolate, brought together the 16 teachers joining our schools in Seville, Don Benito, and Las Palmas, in an atmosphere defined by closeness, fellowship, and a profound shared joy.
Christian Identity as a Fundamental Pillar The meeting’s priority was to help new educators immerse themselves in the evangelising mission of our centres, guided by the values of the Claretian Educational Charter. Throughout these days, it was stressed that teaching goes far beyond a technical duty; it constitutes a genuine vocation of service committed to the provincial motto of “evangelising through education”. Likewise, participants delved deeper into the sense of belonging to our educational network, the Code of Ethics, and the culture of a Safe Environment.
High-Quality Formation and Dedicated Speakers Through a journey structured into four stages (describing the charismatic roots, understanding identity, embracing the educational style, and taking one’s place in the mission), the educators attended high-level lectures delivered by various formators from our province:
- Antonio Venceslá CMF guided the approach to the figure of Saint Anthony Mary Claret.
- Teresa Díaz-Borrego presented the guidelines of the Pastoral Plan in our centres.
- Fernando Soriano analysed the current challenges facing Catholic Schools.
- Martina Gómez detailed the organizational and operational aspects.
- Luis A. García provided insights into relational climate and pedagogical innovation.
- Luis A. Rodríguez dynamically explored the core values of our Educational Charter.
- Pedro Batista and Juanjo García CMF developed the foundations of the School Educational Project (PEC) and the Code of Ethics for school staff.
- Mariola Sosa defined the profile and style of the Claretian educator.
Shared Celebration and a Horizon Filled with Enthusiasm The formation was enriched by carefully prepared moments of community prayer and the celebration of the Eucharist (presided over by Manolo Ogalla and Antonio Venceslá)—spaces where faith was shared and celebrated in a spirit of great fraternity. Following the conclusion of the meeting on Saturday, 29th August, the participants began their journey back to their respective schools. They return with a strong sense of belonging to our provincial network and a commitment to bringing their enthusiasm, vocation, and fresh energy to the teaching staff for the start of the new 2026/2027 academic year.
