On October 17 and 18, 2025, within the framework of the annual training organized by the Episcopal Conference on the protection of minors, a meeting was held in Madrid between the Safe Environment Teams of the Claretian Provinces of Fátima, Santiago, and Sanctus Paulus.
The purpose of the meeting was to share the experiences and initiatives that each Province has been developing in the protection of minors and vulnerable persons, as well as to reflect together on the challenges that this field poses in pastoral and educational life.
In an atmosphere of sincere and constructive dialogue, current concerns regarding violence and sexual abuse of minors were addressed, with special attention to the new challenges of the digital environment, access to pornography, and the serious harm that all of this causes to children and adolescents. At the same time, the shared responsibility of all to contribute to education and awareness-raising as effective means of prevention was emphasized.
The meeting also made it possible to identify priority areas for joint work and to strengthen collaboration and coordination among the Provinces, advancing toward the creation of increasingly safer environments, in harmony with the Vademecum 2025, our Protocols, and the ongoing process of coordination and shared work among the schools.
