SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER 2023
Luke 10, 17-24
“Rejoice, for your names are written in heaven”.
In Thursday’s Gospel Jesus sent seventy-two missionaries to evangelise. Today we see them returning happy and joyful for what they have done. They have seen even the demons submit to them in the name of Jesus.
The Lord welcomes them with affection and congratulates them not only for what they have done but, above all, for who they are. For they are blessed and loved by the Father.
It is certainly important what we do; but it is much more important that we are children of God.
Ask today for a simple heart that knows how to open itself to the love of the Father. And that it understands that the important thing is not to know a lot or to do a lot, but to love and to trust a lot. Rejoice because your name is tattooed on the heart and on the palms of the hands of your Father God.
Good day to you.
