FRIDAY 18th FEBRUARY 2022
Mark 8, 34-9,1:
“If anyone would save his life, he will lose it; but whoever loses it for my sake will find it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world if he ruins his life?”.
The question that Jesus addresses today was applied to themselves by many saints and radically changed their lives.
St. Anthony Mary Claret was one of them. He tells us in his Autobiography:
“In the midst of all this turmoil of things, while I was attending Holy Mass, I remembered having read as a child those words of the Gospel: “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world if he loses his own soul”?
“This sentence made a deep impression on me. It was for me an arrow that pierced my heart. I thought and thought about what I would do, but I could not succeed”.
Ask yourself this question today and try to act accordingly.
