Serving the Word: 16th February

WEDNESDAY 16th FEBRUARY 2022

Mark 8, 22-26:

“Jesus led him out of the village, took him by the hand, rubbed saliva into his eyes, laid his hands on him, and asked him, “Do you see anything?” Lifting up his eyes, he said, “I see men; they look like trees to me, but they walk.” He put his hands on his eyes again and the man looked: he was cured and could see everything clearly”.

Again we see Jesus healing a blind person.

But this blind man does not immediately regain his sight after Jesus first rubs spittle into his eyes.

His faith has not completely dispelled the darkness covering his eyes. For this reason, Jesus has not been able to completely perform the miracle in his sight.

But in a second moment, when the blind man’s faith reaches its fullness, Jesus again lays his hands on his eyes and clarity also takes full possession of his whole person.

In the same way, we are moving forward and progressing in our life of faith.

We too are making progress in our trust in Jesus.

Ask the Lord today with determination to increase your faith.

Make your own that short prayer addressed by the Apostle Peter: “Lord, I believe, but increase my faith”.

Good day.
