“When they saw the star, they were filled with immense joy. They went into the house, saw the child with Mary his mother, and fell on their knees and worshipped him. Then they opened their coffers and offered gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh” (Matthew 2, 1-12).
This feast of the Manifestation of the Lord is not for those who know a lot and have a lot of power. It is meant for children, for the humble, for all those who set out because they discover a “star”, for all those who go out to the “peripheries”, for all those who expose themselves to the “elements” and for all those who know how to get down on their knees before the littleness of a God made child.
May the Three Magi find you today and always be small so that they can give you lots of good things.
We also pray for all those people who cannot celebrate this event, but who can also receive some gesture that will certainly be a gift.
