Serving the Word: 25th November

THURSDAY 25th NOVEMBER 2021

Luke 21, 20-28:

” Arise, lift up your heads: your deliverance is at hand.”

From the moment we begin to hear the first news of the day, until we retire to rest after turning off the television, we are hearing and reading “bad news”.

And yet we Christians are the people of Good News.

We have experienced, even in the midst of struggles and difficulties, the mercy and love of a God who liberates and saves.

Pope Francis says in the “Joy of the Gospel”: “No one can take from us the dignity that this infinite and unfailing love gives us. He allows us to lift up our heads and begin again, with a tenderness that never disappoints us and can always restore our joy”.

We must keep our heads up without falling into useless pessimisms that block us and hinder any desire to do good.

We must work tirelessly for the transformation of our society.

We cannot tire of doing the impossible every day to do our bit for the betterment of the world, bringing us closer and closer to the liberation that the Lord brings us.

Good day.
