Serving the Word: Mt 9: 32-38

TUESDAY, 7 JULY

Matthew 9, 32-38:
“The people said in admiration, ‘Never has such a thing been seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said, “This man casts out demons by the power of the chief of the demons.

While the humble and simple people praise and admire the deeds of Jesus, the Pharisees always have criticism on their lips.
However, these criticisms do not prevent Jesus from continuing to “go about all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and curing all manner of sickness and disease”.
Nor do these criticisms prevent people from approaching Jesus “like sheep without a shepherd”.
Come close to Jesus today too. Surely you need him as the Good Shepherd.
Rest and abandon yourself to Him.
Think also that Jesus needs arms, hands and heart that want to work in his field: “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”.
Pray the Lord to send labourers into his harvest and offer yourself to him as one of his labourers.
Good day.
