TUESDAY 9 JUNE
Matthew 5:13-16:
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.”
The followers of Jesus have the mission to make him present in the here and now of history.
And we do this when we are lit lamps and not damp salt that has lost its taste.
The world today needs the light of the Gospel of Jesus.
And today’s world also needs the taste of that Gospel.
You are light. You are salt.
May your light shine, may your light also give light and spread much light.
And may your experience of the Gospel of Jesus give flavour to everything that needs life, joy, closeness and love.
Try to be light and salt today for all those around you and for all those you meet throughout the day.
