Serving the Word: John 17, 11b-19

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27

John 17, 11b-19:
“May they be one as we are one.. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from evil… As you sent me into the world, so I send them into the world.

We are approaching the great solemnity of Pentecost.
Pentecost is the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the whole church.
The Spirit that once invaded the hearts and lives of Jesus’ apostles and disciples is the same Spirit that continues to fill the hearts of all of us today so that we may be witnesses to the risen Jesus.
Jesus, with the strength of the Spirit, sends us out into the world to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus by our lives, our works and our words.
Ask today for that strength of the Spirit to be his witness where your life is normally conducted. Ask for the gifts of the Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Good day.
