Serving the Word: Lk 9: 43b-45

Luke 9, 43b-45:
“Jesus said to his disciples: for your part, you must have these words constantly in your mind: “The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men”. But they did not understand him when he said this. It was hidden from them that they should not see the meaning of it. And they were afraid to ask him about the matter.”

It is also very difficult for us to understand the language of the Cross.
But the message of Jesus is clear: “He who wants to be my disciple must take up his cross and come behind me.”
The Cross is something that we all flee from and we would like to remove it from on top of us.
But the cross is something so essential to the Christian that we will never be able to dispense with it.
Jesus will not remove from us the crosses we have to bear. But certainly, Jesus will help us carry the crosses we have to bear.
Today ask Jesus to give you wisdom to understand his language.
Never run away from the Cross but always ask him for the strength to know how to carry it behind him.
Don’t be afraid. With Jesus you will be carry all the crosses that in life come your way.
Good day.
