FRIDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2022
Matthew 9, 27-31:
Two blind men followed Jesus, crying out: have mercy on us, son of David”.
How often can each one of us be those poor blind men standing by the roadside begging for alms!
The blind men in today’s Gospel cry out loudly to Jesus as they follow him along the road.
While darkness reigned in their eyes, the light of faith shone in their hearts. And this light ends up drowning out the darkness and enlightening their eyes.
In the midst of darkness, need and helplessness, you too cry out loudly to Jesus.
He is the light that shines in the darkness and enlightens everyone who comes into this world. Darkness can never overcome his light.
And don’t cry out just to enlighten your own eyes. Shout also loudly to illuminate so many dark situations in which so many people live and which exist in our world at this time of pandemic.
You who receive the light of Christ, be a light for the world and for others.
Good day to you.
