MONDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2022
Luke 9, 46-50:
“Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. The least among you is the greatest”.
Jesus’ disciples continue with their obsession: they are very concerned about the top positions, about the limelight, about being important as they understand it.
That is why Jesus gives them again his lessons on humility and simplicity.
Jesus places a child at their side, who at the time was a person with no rights and no relevance whatsoever.
Jesus makes it very clear who he is supporting: the smallest, the weakest, those who need it most.
See to it that Jesus also places you at his side, not because you are big, important or powerful, but because you are simple, humble and small.
This is the only way to be at Jesus’ side.
Put at your side not the powerful, not what is important in the eyes of this world, not what is important according to human criteria.
Put by your side the small, the simple and the weak.
Good day to you.
