Serving the Word: 25th April

Mark 16, 15-20:

“Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation”.

Today we celebrate the feast of the Evangelist St. Mark. His Gospel was probably the first of the four Gospels to be written. It is the shortest of them all. It does not gloss, it does not dissect, it does not comment on anything.

Today, it is a concise account of the missionary sending of Jesus to his apostles.

It is a sending that is also addressed to us, who are also called to proclaim the gospel with our word, with our life and with our witness. We are called to proclaim the Good News with enthusiasm, joy and strength.

You can make Jesus and his message welcome wherever you normally go.

You can help others to know Jesus, to love him and to follow him. Do it with concrete actions.

Today is a good day to be, like St. Mark, witnesses to Jesus. Today is a good day to write with your life the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. Do not fail to do so.

Good day to you.
