Serving the Word: 17th November

TUESDAY 17 NOVEMBER

Luke 19, 1-10:
“When Jesus came to that place, he lifted up his eyes and said, “Zacchaeus, come down at once, for I must stay at your house today. He got down at once and was very happy to receive Jesus.

Today Jesus passes close by Zacchaeus who, climbing a fig tree, wants to see him.
Jesus looks up at Zacchaeus and invites himself to stay in his house because he wants salvation to enter the house of Zacchaeus. Open wide today the doors of the house of your heart to Jesus.
He too wants to stay in your house today.
For this you may have to take a “leap” as Zacchaeus did when he came down from the fig tree.
You may have to come down from the fig tree of pride, from the fig tree of apathy, from the fig tree of laziness, from the fig tree of lack of love, and from as many other “fig trees” as can prevent Jesus from staying in your heart.
But you can be sure that you too, like Zacchaeus, will experience the joy of salvation.
If Jesus enters your house you will notice that your life is reoriented, that he makes everything new, that your love and dedication to others grows, and that you truly experience how the joy of the Gospel is reborn in you.
Good day.
