Serving the Word: 16th February

TUESDAY 16th FEBRUARY 2021

Mark 8, 14-21:

“Why do you say that you have no bread? do you not understand? are you so foolish? what good are your eyes if you do not see, and your ears if you do not hear?”.

We are so busy and preoccupied with our own things that we do not understand the things of God.

Yesterday we wanted to open our hearts to the wonders and gifts that the Lord daily places before us and places in our hands.

In today’s Gospel Jesus teaches his disciples to open their eyes and to realise that it is in the daily events of our lives that he manifests himself.

The disciples do not fully understand the teachings of Jesus because their hearts are still open to a very different way of thinking than the Master’s way of thinking.

Try to be very attentive today as well to the progress of this day. In small events the Lord Jesus will teach you his ways and in these small events he will manifest himself to you.

May your eyes serve you to see the wonders of God and your ears serve you to hear them.

Good day.
