Serving the Word: 15th October

Thurdsday, 15th October

Matthew 11, 25-30:

“Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find your rest. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light”.

We all have bad moments in life.

We feel the tiredness, the burden – which sometimes seems to engulf us -, sickness, sadness, loneliness…

And how much we are grateful in those moments for the support of our family or the hand of a friend!

Today Jesus invites us to go to meet Him in these moments of tiredness and burden.

Look for Him in prayer, in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness, in the Word… Look for Him also in others, because at the same time that you find rest and comfort for yourself, you will be also rest and comfort for others.

And to the extent that you are for others you will also find comfort and relief for yourself.

Today, on the day of St. Theresa of Jesus, we congratulate all the Theresas.

Good day.
