THURSDAY 14 JULY 2022
Matthew 11, 28-30:
`Jesus exclaimed, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and
learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find your rest. For my yoke is bearable and my burden light.
Within the human being enter weariness, discouragement, anguish, sadness… and so many other negative states of mind, so many other negative moods.
And each person looks for the remedy where he believes he will find the solution.
Jesus appears before you today as a place of rest and consolation. He reveals himself to the simple, to those who are not self-centred
He reveals himself to the simple, to those who do not focus on themselves and put him at the centre of their lives.
Jesus identifies with those who identify with his meekness and humility of heart.
Ask the Lord today for the simplicity needed to open your heart to him, to listen to him and to come to him, placing your trust in his love, in his heart, all the weariness and all the burdens that assail you at this time.
