FRIDAY 13 MAY 2022
John 14, 1-6:
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.
Today we celebrate the memorial of all the faithful departed.
Those who have gone before us in the sign of faith and who have taught us to walk in truth and life.
Those who we believe have gone to the Father through Jesus and who in one way or another have lived these words of St. Augustine:
“If you run astray, you advance uselessly. And what is worse, you only walk to wear yourself out and walk in vain. Your error is greater the more you run away of the path.
Run, but run in the way of Christ, for He said, “I AM THE WAY”.
Run knowing that you have sure direction, for Christ Himself added: “I AM THE TRUTH”.
Run for him, run to him and you will find LIFE.
It was precisely so that you would run to Jesus Christ that he came down to you.
You were far away, wandering in remote countries and so weak that you could not move.
The physician came down to you, he came to you who were sick, and the way was marked out in this valley of pilgrimage.
Walk, then, on that path which is Christ, and you will be saved”.
