Serving the Word: 12th January

WEDNESDAY 12th JANUARY 2022

Mark 1, 29-39:

“Jesus went with James and John to the house of Simon and Andrew. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him. Jesus came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. He cured many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He got up early in the morning, went out into the open country and began to pray.

This passage from the Gospel of Mark describes a day in the life of Jesus: after passing by the synagogue, he goes into the house, cures the fever of a sick woman, cures various illnesses, casts out many demons and “got up early in the morning, went out to the open countryside, and there he began to pray”. Always doing good. Always serving others. And also finding quiet times to pray and be with the Father.

Plan your days as Jesus planned them: work, rest, do good, serve those around you, and don’t forget to find a moment of solitude and also place yourself in the presence of the Father to pray.

Good day.
