WEDNESDAY 11th JANUARY 2023
Mark 1, 29-39:
“Jesus went with James and John to the house of Simon and Andrew. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him. Jesus came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. He cured many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He got up early in the morning, went out into the open country and began to pray.
This passage from the Gospel of Mark describes one of Jesus’ journeys: after visiting the synagogue, he goes to the house of Peter, cures the fever of a sick woman, cures various illnesses, casts out many demons and “got up early in the morning, went out to the open fields and began to pray”.
Always doing good. Always serving others. And also looking for quiet times to pray and be with the Father.
Plan your days as Jesus planned them: work, rest, do good, serve those around you, and don’t forget to find a moment of solitude and also place yourself in the presence of the Father to pray.
